Best Gourmethotel in Switzerland

Schloss Schauenstein was recognised as Switzerland’s best gourmet hotel by the Falstaff restaurant and hotel guide.

To mark the 20th anniversary of the restaurant and boutique hotel, the 1774-built castle was renovated in collaboration with the Danish architect duo Space Copenhagen.

"My wife Sarah and I were looking for the perfect harmony between traditional and modern elements, combined with timeless design classics," says castle owner Andreas Caminada. "Experiencing the spirit of the castle and feeling its history was crucial for me when planning the extensive renovation. Guests should feel at home in every corner and be able to enjoy both the culinary journey and the castle with all their senses."

Further expansion of the castle
The castle currently features six rooms and suites, with three additional rooms in the neighbouring Meierhaus. Over the summer, a new breakfast area for guests, a private dining room with an adjoining kitchen, and three more rooms will be added in the rear section of the castle, known as the “Seidenhaus”.
