Record proceeds at the fifth AC Masters in aid of the Fundaziun Uccelin

In perfect golfing weather, 76 golf enthusiasts met last Tuesday at the Buna Vista golf course in Sagogn for the fifth AC Masters in aid of Fundaziun Uccelin. Together with Andreas Caminada, they enjoyed a top-class round of golf - including celebrities such as NHL star Nino Niederreiter and tennis legend Roger Federer.

‘With the AC Masters, we not only create a unique day on the golf course, but also give young talents real prospects - and that's what it's all about in the end,’ enthuses Andreas Caminada, founder of the foundation. Thanks to the auction of generously donated prizes, a record sum of CHF 121,820 was raised - a new high for the foundation, which was established in 2016. Marc-André Buchwalder, who took over from Anthea Zinser-Jufli as the new Managing Director in mid-May, was particularly pleased. It was his first time taking part in the AC Masters: "It's great to see the beaming faces of our guests - with fantastic weather, a fantastic menu on the course and an impressive dinner. But what particularly touches me is the palpable enthusiasm for our foundation," says Buchwalder.

Golf and culinary delights go hand in hand at the AC Masters. During the day, the IGNIV Andermatt team, led by Valentin Sträuli, spoilt the golfers with culinary delights at mobile refreshment stations on the golf course. In the evening, the guests enjoyed the Schloss-Schauenstein flavours of chef Marcel Skibba and his team.

The auctioned highlights included an exclusive visit to Dom Pérignon with an overnight stay, a unique experience at the Lalique manufactory including dinner at the Villa René Lalique, organised by Foundation Board member Tanja Wegmann, a VIP trip to the Audi box at a Bundesliga match in Munich and two signed rackets including the Assouline book ‘Federer’, donated by Roger Federer himself.

The Fundaziun Uccelin is committed to promoting young catering talent. Every year, around twenty scholarship holders are given the opportunity to complete an individually designed 20-week exchange programme with international partner companies. The foundation is financed exclusively by donations, sponsorships and contributions from the restaurants of the Caminada Group and The Living Circle.

"The generous support of our patrons and partners is the foundation of our work. Our sincere thanks go to them," concludes Buchwalder.
