SWISS Signature Cocktail - by IGNIV Bar Zurich

SWISS is expanding its range of drinks with a specially developed cocktail for the first time. ‘SWISS Alpine Essence’ is a light and floral homage to the white Negroni and will be served on all long-haul flights from July. The drink was created in collaboration with the Zurich bar ‘IGNIV by Andreas Caminada’.

Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) is bringing its own cocktail on board for the first time with ‘SWISS Alpine Essence’. From July, long-haul First and Business Class passengers will be able to enjoy the exclusive drink, which was developed in collaboration with the IGNIV Bar Zurich and Sarah Madritsch (then bar manager). She has already been honoured by the Swiss bar scene as ‘Bartender of the Year’, among other awards. The SWISS cocktail combines dry, white vermouth and elderflower notes with refreshing mint, white cocoa as well as citrus and herbal nuances. The cocktail is reminiscent of a floral, light version of a white Negroni and is suitable both as an aperitif and as an accompaniment to a meal.

Sarah Madritsch, creator of the ‘SWISS Alpine Essence’: "We wanted to create a flavour experience for passengers that combines alpine freshness with lightness - just as you can experience it in the Swiss countryside. I'm proud of the result and it's a unique feeling that our creation will soon be flying around the world as the first SWISS cocktail." Heike Birlenbach, Chief Commercial Officer of SWISS: "With “SWISS Alpine Essence” we are bringing a specially developed cocktail on board for the first time. This is a further building block in a series of initiatives this year that will further refine our guests' travel experience - characterised by attention to detail and a Swiss signature."

The ‘SWISS Alpine Essence’ will be served on SWISS long-haul flights in First and Business Class from July onwards, with First Class guests able to enjoy the cocktail as a welcome drink before take-off if they wish. The cocktail is also expected to be added to the ‘SWISS Saveurs’ range in September, so that Economy Class passengers on short- and medium-haul flights will also be able to enjoy the exclusive drink.
